Ms. Deborah has 13 years of teaching experience. She earned an MFA in Choreography and Performance from Mills College and studied ballet pedagogy with 2 teachers certified in Russia to teach the Vaganova method. She first completed teaching seminars for levels I-IV of the Vaganova Method with Karen Morrell at the Academy of Classical Ballet in Oakland, CA. Ms. Morrell was the first American to become certified in the method at the Vaganova Academy in St. Peterburg, Russia. To further refine her teaching skills, Deborah consulted with pedagogue Eric Conrad, the first American to teach the Vaganova Method and choreograph at the Bolshoi Academy.
